Aunque todos los sectores de la sociedad se vieron afectados con graves repercusiones en la salud mental, los ni\u00f1os y adolescentes parec\u00edan especialmente vulnerables y sufrieron en mayor medida debido a las condiciones de la pandemia y a la postergaci\u00f3n de las necesidades durante un largo periodo de tiempo (1). Aunque todav\u00eda se est\u00e1n realizando estudios cient\u00edficos (2), los psic\u00f3logos y educadores advierten sobre el impacto a largo plazo de la COVID-19 en la salud mental de los estudiantes, especialmente de aquellos que ya estaban en situaci\u00f3n de riesgo antes de la pandemia (3). As\u00ed pues, el reto de proteger y promover la salud mental de los estudiantes de secundaria seguir\u00e1 existiendo despu\u00e9s de la pandemia. La profesionalizaci\u00f3n pertinente de los profesores mejora las condiciones de los alumnos para participar con \u00e9xito en la vida escolar y social, lo que a su vez proporciona una mejor base para una vida adulta y laboral satisfactoria.<\/p>\n<p>El consorcio SENSE, formado por socios de DE, AT, BE, ES, ET y dirigido por la Universit\u00e4t K\u00f6ln, persigue sus objetivos mediante:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analizar c\u00f3mo los profesores de secundaria pueden evaluar, preservar y reforzar la salud mental de los alumnos.<\/li>\n<li>Elaborar un folleto informativo y de sensibilizaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li>Desarrollar formatos de formaci\u00f3n continua y una caja de herramientas.<\/li>\n<li>Poner en marcha una amplia estrategia de comunicaci\u00f3n para promover el proyecto y el tema de la salud mental y el bienestar en la escuela.<\/li>\n<li>Aplicar una gesti\u00f3n profesional del are we doing the project? SENSE wants to create in-service training offers to equip secondary school teachers with the KNOWLEDGE, RESOURCES and SKILLS needed to succeed in providing low threshold PROMOTION, PREVENTION and EARLY INTERVENTION in students\u2019 mental health. Relevant professionalisation of teachers improves pupil\u2019s conditions to participate successfully in school and social life, which in turn provides a better foundation for a fulfilling adult and working life. SENSE develops 3 key results in English, German, Dutch, Spanish and Estonian language: SENSE Brochure An informational brochure aimed primarily at teachers, containing information on mental health in the context of secondary education in a condensed and concise manner. SENSE Toolbox A mental health toolbox for classroom use, containing materials and methods for the classroom. SENSE Course An in-service training course for secondary school teachers, both face-to-face and online.
